Educational Choice Scholarship
Provides scholarships to students who attend consistently underperforming public schools. Scholarship may be used to attend private schools that meet the requirements for program participation.

ELIGIBILITY:
Attendance and/or assignment to a public school that has been rated “academic emergency” or placed on “academic watch” for 2 of the past 3 years.
Student is enrolled or will be enrolled in an EdChoice-designated school.     

HOW TO USE:
Visit the website to apply for admission at a participating school.
Students must first be accepted at a participating private school before applying for an EdChoice Scholarship

Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship
Provides a scholarship to any child with special needs who has an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Scholarship can be used for:

  • Tuition at private schools that offer special education services
  • Services at private therapists and other service providers

Other public schools outside the student’s home district

ELIGIBILITY: 
Students in K-12 who have finalized IEP from their home public school district

DOCUMENTS NEEDED:
Finalized IEP (not a service plan or 504)
Must complete application

College Jumpstart Options
Offers ways to earn college credit while still in high school

  • Early College High Schools– any student may apply
  •  College Tech Prep School- students usually enroll in 10th grade for the upcoming year
  • Post Secondary classes at the local college- open to any student grades 9-12 with a 3.0 GPA of higher
  • Advanced Placement classes at any high school- open to any student grades 9-12, though further eligibility is determined by the individual high school

 

 
  FEES:

All programs are free to enroll. For Early College High School, transportation costs may apply, College Tech Prep may have book fees, Advanced Placement exams cost $86 though the state will cover the cost of the exam for students with financial need.
