SERVICES:
Nicholas School is a state-chartered, non-public school specializing in education for children with different learning needs. Enrolling students in grades K-8, Nicholas School offers a full day school program. In addition to addressing academic content standards, children participate in a variety of unique activities designed to increase neurological organization, fine and gross motor function, sensory needs and focus/attention.
Nicholas School is an approved provider of the Ohio Autism Scholarship and the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship.
ELIGIBILITY: Each child being considered for enrollment in Nicholas School must complete an initial evaluation conducted by Nicholas School’s sensorimotor developmentalist.
DOCUMENTS NEEDED: All students records, including previous medical/psychological evaluations, school reports must be provided by the parent at the time of the evaluation. Current Evaluation Team Report and Individual Education Plan.
RESTRICTIONS: While Nicholas School’s program does address common behavioral concerns, such as poor attention span or off task behavior, this program is not appropriate for students with extreme behavioral difficulties or emotional disturbances, or for students who have a consistent history of oppositional, physical or verbally aggressive behavior.
