Emergency shelter assistance is offered 24 hours, 7 days a week basis, 365 days a year for any Miami County resident in need. Safe shelter, meals, laundry facilities, hygiene products, clothing, and case management services are all made available on-site.

Legal Advocacy and Support for Victims of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking

Emergency shelter assistance is offered on 24 hours, 7 days week basis, 365 days a year for any Miami County resident in need. Safe shelter, meals, laundry facilities, hygiene products, clothing, and case management services are all made available on-site.

Assistance with obtaining CPOs and TPOs; 911 cell phones, crisis intervention, safety planning, court accompaniment, referrals, etc. Legal advocates are available every morning in the Miami Co. Municipal Court House to assist victims on the third floor or can be reached by calling 937-339-6761.

Permanent Supportive Housing for Homeless Individuals with Disabling Conditions

8 units of permanent supportive housing are made available for homeless individuals who have disabling conditions. Units are SROs. Each unit is subsidized with tenants paying no more than 30% of their gross income for rent and utilities. Case management is provided for all tenants of the building. Must be literally homeless prior to entry.

Rapid Rehousing Assistance for Homeless Families and Individuals

Rapid ReHousing provides short-term rental assistance and case management services for literally homeless individuals and families. The first month’s rent, housing deposit, utility deposit, and additional rent may be paid on a program participant’s behalf. The type and level of assistance provided are determined by each household’s need for rental assistance and case management services. The goals of rapid rehousing programming include obtaining permanent housing quickly, increasing self-sufficiency, and remaining housed once assistance has ended.

ELIGIBILITY:  All Shelter Services are available for all persons in need in Miami County.

Shelter residents must be 18 years old or accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.

Sex offenders are not eligible for emergency shelter assistance through the Buckeye House or Franklin House. To access all homeless programs, including financial assistance, must meet HUD’s definition of literal homelessness.

None. (If applying for public assistance while at Shelter, please bring birth certificates, social security numbers, marriage licenses, and other official documents for all persons to be sheltered.)

Permanent Supportive Housing & Rapid Rehousing 

Proof homelessness. Proof of income and/or disability, as appropriate. Documents: birth certificate, social security card, and state identification.

RESTRICTIONS: All Programs:  Must be free of drugs and alcohol.

Must also sign confidential intake paperwork, and follow Shelter rules and regulations.
Alternatives participants must also be willing to participate & learn.
