SERVICES: Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO) is a non-profit regional law firm that provides high quality legal assistance in civil matters to help eligible low-income individual and groups in Ohio achieve self-reliance, equal justice, and economic opportunity.
LAWO provides services in several areas of law, including: Advance Directives, such as Healthcare Power of Attorney (POA), Financial POA, Living Wills, Simple Wills, Elder Abuse, etc; Bankruptcy; Debt Collection; Foreclosures; Financial Exploitation; Family law, such as Domestic Violence Civil Protection Orders, Civil Stalking Protection Orders, Divorce, Custody, Child Support, and Safety Planning; Housing, such as eviction defense, conditions issues, public and subsidized housing admissions and denials, voucher terminations, utility shut offs, lock outs, etc.; Healthcare; Public Benefits; Criminal Record Sealing; Social Security/SSI. We also help Agricultural workers throughout the state of Ohio.
ELIGIBILITY: Based upon federal poverty guidelines and other special factors. All callers are screened for income eligibility before receiving services.

FEE POLICY: There are no fees associated with receiving services, however a client may be responsible for their own court costs.
