SERVICES:

RELIEF

Caregivers – Scheduled transportation, friendly visits, and outings for persons over 62.

Christmas Shop – A shop where parents choose gifts for their children while giving back to the community through volunteering or other contributions.

Crisis Services – Temporary assistance to families in crisis, including obtaining birth certificates, taxes, toiletry items, assistance with utility shut-off, clothing for interviews, and work boots for employment.

EDUCATION

PIH Poverty Simulations – A community engagement and awareness event that simulates a month in the life of a family living in poverty.

Financial $ense – An individualized faith-based money management and guidance program designed for families with limited income.

Getting Ahead – a 10-week program for individuals and families to investigate the hidden rules of social class and learn about the resources necessary to support their goals of self-sustainability.

Bridges Out of Poverty – Community education that explores poverty through an economic lens, explores the hidden rule of class and invites social action to eliminate poverty in the community.

DEVELOPMENT

Staying Ahead – A PIH resource development and goal-setting program based on the Getting Ahead curriculum.
Individuals and families along with their children participate in a weekly group that provides support and education from staff, community professionals, volunteers, and each other as they work towards accomplishing their goals.
