Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship Program

Provides a scholarship to children in grades K-12 with special needs who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from their home district. Scholarships are worth up to $27,000 and can be used toward education-related services at participating schools or to pay for services at private service providers, like therapists.

ELIGIBILITY: Any student with special needs in grades K-12 who has an IEP from their home public school district.

HOW TO USE: Research – Check out the list of participating schools and providers at www.scohio.org. Choose the school and or provider on the list that is the best fit for your child.

Apply to a School or Provider – Reach out to the school or provider of your choice and begin their application process. Your child must go through the regular admission process at the private school.

Apply for the Scholarship – If your child is accepted, the private school or provider will apply for the scholarship on your behalf.

SERVICES: Autism Scholarship Program – Provides a scholarship to children with Autism between the ages of 3 and 21 or high school graduates, who have an IEP from their home school district. Scholarships are worth $31,500 and can be used toward tuition at participating schools or to pay for services at private service providers, like therapists.

ELIGIBILITY: Any student with Autism between the ages of 3 and 21 or high school graduate whichever comes first, who has an IEP from their home public school district.

DOCUMENTS NEEDED: Finalized IEP (not a service plan or 504)
